Here are some photos of my classroom!

Curiosities...

Since I have arrived here I have noticed a lot of things that are DIFFERENT from my country. Something we hear a lot during our orientation is that "Things are not better and they are not worse.... They are just DIFFERENT" and it is the way it is.... This phrase is soooo true!!

When sister and Celso came to visit we all went bowling and something that is really different here is that when someone is playing next to your bowling lane you should wait for your turn to play in your lane or vice-versa not to make the player next to you confuse (I guess)...
I know that in Brazil everyone plays the game without noticing who is playing next to us, but here we should wait before rolling the bowling ball along the flat surface if there is someone playing next to the lane we are playing ...
Another curiosity is that here I had the impression that the second language is Spanish... Most of the people can speak the language. Every Walmart that we go we find native Spanish speakers even the signs we notice them in English and Spanish. Well it could be because I am in Virginia and specially the area that I am leaving (close to Washington D.C) there are many hispanic people living here that I guess they had to adjust and make it easier for the ones that don't speak English.

Orientation...

Well I hope I am not too late to write the news...

I have been two months away from the internet because first when I came to the U.S.A I went to North Carolina as part of my orientation program - Visiting International Faculty - then I came to Virginia where I teach but I had to find a place to live, find a internet company with a reasonable price and then to prepare some lesson plans, etc, ...
So I hope you don't give up coming here for news because now I am back... LOL!!

The adventure started on August when I arrived in the U.S.A to start teaching English as a second language. I have created a blog for my classes if you want to visit us and leave us a comment or read about us just click on our webpage the link is above on the word underlined.

I am fortunate.....

I am really lucky to have worked with kind and friendly people in a wonderful school and the most important thing is to have them as friends and online co-workers...

Thank you very much for the lovely card you all sent me, all the messages has ment a lot to me!!
